Supreme Court allows next-gen green joint crackers
The Hindu··30 Sept
The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused a nationwide firecracker ban and accepted CSIR-NEERI advice for a limited, conditional relaxation. It allowed manufacture of next-generation joined green crackers meeting noise, emission and safety rules ahead of Deepavali. CSIR-NEERI cited a 30 percent emissions cut versus conventional joined crackers and noise within a 125 dB peak limit.
