Normandy train crash injures 44 with 1 critical

A train derailed between Rouen and Caen in northern France on Friday evening, injuring 44 people around 7:30 p.m. local time, authorities said. One person is in critical condition and was evacuated by helicopter. The train carried 180 passengers and left the rails near Cleon after hitting an unidentified object, French police and SNCF said.
