Ranchi police file three FIRs after student clash

On 22 August 2026, Ranchi police registered three FIRs at Kotwali station against 14 named people and more than 200 unnamed persons after Friday's clash with job aspirants. City SP Paras Rana confirmed the count. One case is by police for obstructing government work and leaving the approved route. Two more were filed by private complainants.

- Lalpur officer Rupesh Kumar Singh had said on Friday that repeated requests to keep to the defined route were ignored.
- Two of the three FIRs were lodged by private persons, so the police case is not the only complaint arising from the same afternoon.
