Supreme Court declines bulldozer demolition contempt pleas

The Supreme Court on July 16 refused to consider contempt petitions alleging demolitions violated its November 2024 judgment and directed aggrieved parties to approach concerned high courts. A bench led by CJI Surya Kant said multiple questions require consideration on facts. The court will transfer records to high courts and asked them to decide matters preferably within four months.
