Annamalai quits BJP, plans new movement

Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai has quit the party and is expected to start a political movement that may become a regional party, The Hindu reported. Sources said he submitted his resignation on June 2 after meetings with Amit Shah, Nitin Nabin and B.L. Santhosh. He is expected to announce plans publicly soon.
