The Supreme Court on July 16 permitted Uttar Pradesh to proceed with its Rs 1,500 crore night safari and zoological park at Kukrail Reserve Forest in Lucknow. A three-judge bench led by CJI Surya Kant rejected objections that the reserve forest would be disturbed. The Central Empowered Committee approved the project. Authorities must follow conditions imposed by CEC and CZA.
