Illegal Indian immigration to US drops 69 percent since 2023

Illegal immigration from India to the United States declined 69 percent from its 2023 peak, according to US Customs and Border Protection data analysed on July 16. CBP recorded 20,614 encounters with Indian migrants through May of fiscal year 2026, down from 67,212 during the same period in FY2023. Encounters at the US-Mexico border fell nearly 99 percent to 417.
