Mumbai records over 100 mm rain in twenty-four hours

Several parts of Mumbai received over 100 mm of rainfall in the twenty-four hours ending 8 am on July 1, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said. Eastern suburbs averaged 109 mm, western suburbs 87 mm and the island city 86 mm. Mankhurd recorded 170.4 mm. Water entered the Andheri subway and low-lying areas, prompting traffic diversions.
