CropLife seeks 5-year pesticide data protection

CropLife India urged the Centre to introduce five-year Regulatory Data Protection for crop protection products on Thursday. The industry body, representing 17 research-driven companies, said Indian farmers currently access about 380 active ingredients against around 1,200 globally. It estimated pests and diseases cause annual crop losses of 10-35 percent, valued at about Rs 2 lakh crore.
