Tariff move arrives during India-U.S. talks

The forced-labour tariff proposal overlaps with U.S. trade officials visiting Delhi to discuss a bilateral agreement. NDTV reported the USTR team, led by chief negotiator Brendan Lynch, is working on finalising the framework agreed in February. That makes the tariff threat both a labour-rights claim and a negotiation pressure point for exporters on both sides.
