NTA orders fresh NET in English, Commerce, Sociology

The National Testing Agency will re-conduct UGC-NET June 2026 papers in English, Commerce and Sociology on 9 and 10 September. The June tests ran from 22 to 30 June across 87 subjects. NTA withheld answer keys for the three papers after complaints. Rahul Gandhi said students were serving the sentence for the testing agency's mistakes.

What It Means For You
- If you sat UGC-NET English, Commerce or Sociology in June 2026, you will be called again on 9 or 10 September with no extra fee.
- Candidates in the other 84 subjects can note their answer keys were released and their results are not held up by this retest.
- JRF and PhD eligibility from the June cycle will wait for the three retests; NTA said overall seat allocations would not shrink.
