RBI sells dollars before market open as rupee rallies about 70 paise
Reuters··21 May
The Reserve Bank of India revived aggressive pre-market dollar sales on May 21 to arrest the rupee's slide. State-run banks offloaded dollars before the open, lifting the currency about 70 paise within minutes to near 96 and opening onshore spot at 96.30, up 0.5 percent after it neared 97 on Wednesday amid Iran war-driven oil pressure.
