Microsoft adds Hyderabad cloud region in $20.5 billion plan

Microsoft formally launched its fourth India cloud region in Hyderabad on Monday under a USD 20.5 billion investment commitment. The India South Central region went generally available on August 6, joining Pune, Chennai and Mumbai. Electronics and IT Secretary S Krishnan asked the firm to site future data centres nearer power plants than coastal cable hubs.
