BJP to contest alone in Kolkata's 209 KMC wards

West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya said the party will fight Kolkata and Howrah municipal polls alone, ruling out an alliance with NCPI rebels. KMC wards will rise from 144 to 209 after delimitation, with Howrah going from 50 to 68. Bhattacharya said a Delhi NDA tie-up does not apply locally. Elections are expected after Durga Puja.
