China's Z.AI raises $5 billion via shares and convertible bonds

Beijing-based Z.AI said in a Hong Kong exchange filing on Sunday it raised $5 billion through a $2 billion share placement and about $3 billion in convertible bonds. It offered 21.97 million shares at HK$714 each, a 10% discount to Friday's HK$793 close. About 60% of net proceeds will fund next-generation model research, with 15% marked for expansion plans.
