Kerala governor faces pushback over Lok Bhavan vegetarian kitchen
Hindustan Times·
Kerala governor Om Prakash Mathur drew Congress and CPI(M) criticism on day one over reports of a vegetarian-only Lok Bhavan kitchen. Local media said he directed that non-vegetarian food not be prepared or served there. Officials told PTI the instruction matched his personal diet for him and a small staff group. Other employees were not asked to change habits.

How Officials Framed the Order
- Officials quoted by PTI said Mathur is a strict vegetarian and wanted his kitchen to match that diet.

- Opposition leaders linked the reported order to broader Sangh Parivar politics; the report presents those as allegations.
