Meghalaya team identifies three Garo graves in Malta

A Meghalaya delegation identified graves of three Garo men from the British 69th Garo Labour Company at Pieta Military Cemetery in Malta. Officials announced the find on September 26, 2026. Until now, only Khew Marak's grave from June 15, 1918 was known there. Assembly Speaker Thomas A. Sangma led the visit after a Commonwealth conference in Cape Town.
