Intesa raises Paschi bid cash by 25 euro cents
Livemint··4 Oct
Intesa Sanpaolo said its Monte dei Paschi takeover offer will lapse if shareholders back rival bids for Banco BPM or Banca Generali on October 29. Intesa raised the cash portion by 25 euro cents per Paschi share, about $0.28, if those deals fail. CEO Luigi Lovaglio needs two thirds of votes cast under Italy's passivity rule to pursue his plan.
