Assam accused dies after jump from police vehicle

Ramanuj Goswami, accused of decapitating his wife Riya Talukdar, died after jumping from a police vehicle early on September 14. He was being taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. Hospital authorities said he was brought dead. Police said he complained of uneasiness at Hatigaon station. He had surrendered days after the killing. His family alleged an encounter.
