RBI appoints Suman Ray as executive director

The Reserve Bank of India appointed Suman Ray as executive director with effect from September 1, 2026. Ray was Regional Director for Maharashtra. He will oversee the Department of Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation and the Premises Department. RBI said he has more than three decades at the central bank across currency, payments and inclusion roles.
