IT Ministry clears Rs 7,877 crore component projects

The electronics ministry on 17 August approved projects worth Rs 7,877 crore under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme. S. Krishnan said 31 proposals should yield Rs 82,243 crore of production and close to 10,000 jobs. Ashwini Vaishnaw handed over the approvals. The tranche covers 10 states, with Tamil Nadu getting seven projects, the most in this round.

How The Incentive Scheme Is Structured

- Approvals rose from seven projects in October 2025 to 75 by end-July 2026 and 106 on 17 August.
