Supreme Court to list PIL on lawmaker case delays

The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to urgently list a 2016 PIL seeking speedy disposal of criminal cases involving lawmakers. Amicus Vijay Hansaria told the Surya Kant-led bench that almost 40 percent of legislators face such cases. His report said 251 of 543 Lok Sabha members and 75 of 233 Rajya Sabha members have cases. Pending cases exceed 4,000.
