Vaishnaw expects first Dholera wafer in 2028

Electronics and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said India's first wafer from the Tata Electronics fab in Dholera is likely in 2028. At Semicon India 2026 in New Delhi, he said five of 12 first-phase ATMP plants have begun commercial production. He named Kaynes, CG Semi, CDIL, Suchi and Micron as expanding. Semicon 2.0 aims for at least 200 chip-design companies.
