D.K. Shivakumar takes oath as Karnataka Chief Minister

Eight-time MLA D.K. Shivakumar was sworn in as Karnataka's 25th Chief Minister on June 3 at Bengaluru's Lok Bhavan, completing a transition from Siddaramaiah directed by the Congress high command. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administered oaths to 13 ministers, including G. Parameshwara as Deputy Chief Minister and Siddaramaiah's son Yathindra. Officials expect further briefings this week.
