Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi and other party leaders were detained on Friday while trying to cross police barricades during a Guwahati protest seeking Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's removal. Police said the march from Rajiv Bhawan aimed to reach the Chief Electoral Officer's office. Detainees included AICC secretary Manoj Chauhan and Seva Dal president Deep Bayan.
