UAE grants Starlink 10-year licence for satellite internet services

The UAE's Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority granted Starlink Satellite Communications LLC a 10-year General Space Services Licence on August 28. The licence allows the Elon Musk-owned company to establish and operate a public satellite communications network in the UAE. TDRA said the move aims to diversify connectivity options and strengthen network resilience alongside existing fibre-optic and 5G networks.
