Gem jewellery exports rise 3% to $2.30 billion

India's gem and jewellery exports rose 3 percent in August to $2.30 billion from $2.23 billion. In rupee terms, shipments rose 13 percent to Rs 21,946 crore, GJEPC data showed. Studded gold jewellery exports jumped 52 percent in dollar terms. Plain gold jewellery exports fell 24 percent to $357 million. Cut and polished diamond volumes rose to 13.36 lakh carats.
