Three held in Baruipur minor rape murder BJP leader detained

Police arrested three persons on July 7, 2026, in the alleged rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in Baruipur whose body was found in a pond on July 6. Ananda Sardar, Dibakar Sardar and Pravas Mondal were held. BJP functionary Santanu Mondal was detained over helping a suspect flee. A six-member SIT headed by ASP Pinaki Dutta was formed.
