A woman identified as Ankita, 23, and a two-and-a-half-year-old child, Abir, died after a fire broke out around 10:02 p.m. on August 11 at Shanta Bhavan, a 12-storey building on Baptista Road in Mumbai's Vile Parle West. Two flats on the 11th floor caught fire. Six others were injured; Nanavati Hospital said four remaining patients were stable.
