Tata Sons board backs Chandrasekaran for 5 more years

Livemint··18 Sept

Tata Sons directors voted 4-1 on Thursday to recommend N Chandrasekaran as chairman for five more years. Noel Tata voted against and cited Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud's opinion. On August 12, 2026 Chandrasekaran said he would not seek another term ending February 20, 2027. Tata Trusts called the resolution a legal nullity without both trust nominees in favour.
