China shoe factory fire kills at least 28 workers

A fire at Huiteng Footwear factory in Jinjiang, Fujian, killed at least 28 people on July 9, BBC reported. State news agency Xinhua said the blaze erupted around noon local time. Dramatic footage showed black smoke and people apparently trapped on the roof. More than 200 people were evacuated and hundreds of rescue workers rushed to China's shoe manufacturing hub.
