Irani returns as BJP general secretary in charge of UP

The BJP on 17 August named Smriti Irani a national general secretary and in-charge for Uttar Pradesh in Nitin Nabin's new office-bearer list. Piyush Goyal was appointed national treasurer. Ram Madhav returned as a national vice president. Nabin said the team mixed experience and energy under the Viksit Bharat resolve. The appointments took effect the same day.
