GST Council meeting shifted to October 7

The 57th GST Council meeting, earlier set for September 12, is now expected on October 7 in New Delhi, sources told Business Standard. The change clashes with the BRICS Leaders' Summit on September 12-13 in the capital. Officer-level preparatory talks are pencilled for October 5 and 6. It would be the first Council meeting since September 3-4, 2025.
