RailOne lets users book season tickets for 5 others

Indian Railways has added a shared season ticket facility on the RailOne app from September 9, 2026. A registered user can book season tickets for themselves and up to five more persons. A ticket for the user is valid the same day after geographical verification. A ticket for another person becomes valid the next day, Kota officials said.

What It Means For You
- You can book a season ticket for yourself only if you are at least 18 years old.
- Tickets for other passengers require the passenger to be at least five years old.
- Carry the season ticket with photograph and QR code; a booking receipt alone is not accepted.

- Season tickets generally cover Second Class journeys up to a maximum distance of 150 km.
- Staff can scan the QR code on a handheld terminal to verify the ticket during travel.
How Season Tickets Work
- Season tickets allow multiple journeys between two specified stations.
- Holders cannot travel in reserved coaches or on trains with distance-based restrictions.
- RailOne also books unreserved, reserved and platform tickets and links IRCTC, NTES and Rail Madad.
