Supporters of senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra clashed with police and blocked NH-44 for nearly 12 hours in Datia after he was denied a ticket for the July 30 Assembly bypoll, The Hindu reported. Over 3,000 protesters pelted stones at officers; the SP and several policemen were injured before teargas shells finally cleared the highway.
