US ambassador Gor rafts Zanskar Indus stretch in Ladakh

On 20 August 2026, US Ambassador Sergio Gor arrived in Leh on his maiden Ladakh visit and rafted from Tsogti to Sangam, where the Indus and Zanskar meet. He had met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar the previous day. Officials said his team sought a meeting with Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, then in New Delhi.
