Kerala-origin NASA astronaut Anil Menon launched to the International Space Station aboard Soyuz MS-29 on July 14 as part of Expedition 74. Governor Rajendra Arlekar and Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan congratulated Menon, whose roots lie in Ottapalam, Palakkad. Menon, 49, is an emergency medicine physician, US Space Force colonel and great-grandson of former Congress leader Sir C. Sankaran Nair.
