The New Indian Express reported India's merchandise trade deficit widened to $30.43 billion in June as imports of electronics, oil and gold outpaced export growth sharply. Exports rose 15.5% to $40.41 billion while imports jumped nearly 31% to $70.84 billion, versus a $19.10 billion gap recorded in the same month of June 2025 a year earlier.
