Hindu student priest kidnapped and tortured for ransom in Dhaka

Subhash Deuri, 25, a Central Law College student and assistant priest at Jagannath University temple, was allegedly kidnapped in Dhaka's Wari area late June 30. Unidentified persons demanded 30,000 Taka; his sister transferred 26,000 Taka before he escaped Tuesday morning. He suffered leg and hip fractures and is at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
