Jharkhand protesters call exam-cancel stay a betrayal

On 22 August 2026, members of the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch said the Hemant Soren government had failed to defend in the High Court its decision to cancel several recruitment exams. Justice Deepak Roshan stayed notifications that had cancelled appointments from the 11th and 13th JPSC exams, the Food Safety Officer test and later the JSSC-CGL.

- If you were appointed through the 11th or 13th JPSC, the Food Safety Officer 2024 list, or JSSC-CGL, those notifications are stayed until the High Court hears the matter again.
- Anyone still seeking cancellation of other tests among the 22 should note the stay does not automatically cover every cancelled exam.

Why A Cancel Order Met A Stay Within Days
- The state had cancelled the exams to end the first student agitation, then faced a second protest from those already appointed.
- LiveLaw quoted the Court as saying the investigating agency is already at work and that there was no material naming individual candidates.
- A later Friday order also stayed cancellation of Child Development Project Officer appointments along with the JSSC-CGL list, covering about 2,000 employees in one report.
