Seven devotees die in Lakhisarai temple stampede

At least seven devotees, most of them women, died and more than a dozen were injured in a stampede at Ashok Dham temple in Lakhisarai, Bihar, on 17 August. The crush came around 6.40 am on the third Monday of Shravan, as people arrived for jalabhishek. The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary offered condolences.
