Bengal orders SIT probe into Lakshmir Bhandar accounts

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari ordered a Special Investigation Team to examine alleged irregularities in the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme. He claimed nearly 30 lakh beneficiary accounts were fake and said the matter would be probed from a money laundering angle. The scheme, launched by the previous TMC government, was meant for women beneficiaries statewide.
